Sako 75/85/A7/S20 Match Trigger Spring

This spring is a replacement for the trigger pull spring of a Sako 75/85/A7/S20 rifle. It is designed for shooters who require the lowest possible trigger weight. The Match Trigger Spring reduces the minimum trigger weight of the trigger up to 10% more than our Hunter Trigger Spring (the exact value is dependent on the individual firearm).

Performance Notes

The Match Trigger Spring is intentionally light, and therefore more sensitive to the internal tolerances of the trigger mechanism. In testing, we have observed trigger pulls in the 500 – 600 g range, but this cannot be guaranteed. Some rifles require a minimum spring force to maintain safe sear engagement and in those cases the Match spring may offer no additional reduction over the Hunter spring.

Because of this variability, we recommend the Match Trigger Spring only for static precision disciplines such as benchrest, F‑Class and similar applications where the lightest possible trigger is desired and the rifle is not carried loaded.

Shooters seeking a stable, predictable, all‑round trigger pull should select the Hunter Trigger Spring.

Manufacturing and Performance Characteristics

Most commercially available trigger springs are general‑purpose industrial components with uneven end surfaces, variable coil counts and measurable batch‑to‑batch variation. These factors introduce lateral friction (“spring drag”) and contribute to inconsistent trigger pull weights.
