Tikka T3/T3x/T1x and Sako 75/85/A7 Titanium Action Screws

These action screws are a replacement for the action screws of a Tikka T3/T3x/T1x or Sako 75/85/A7 rifle. Action screws are sold as a set including one front action screw (short) and one rear action screw (long).

Why should you upgrade to our titanium action screws?

• Superior corrosion resistance compared to stainless steel.
• The same strength as alloy steel screws and superior strength compared to stainless steel screws. Our titanium action screws equals the alloy screw strength class 10.9 (typical, minimum 9.9). Typically stainless steel screws are only available up to class A4-80, which approx. equals alloy steel screws of class 8.8. Most commonly class A2-70 is used, so that stainless screws are usually a bit ‘softer’ than alloy steel.
• For all those ultralight mountain rifle junkies – lighter than steel for the same strength.

To be sure of the quality of the screws we did some destructive testing on them. We broke the T25 bit before we managed to strip out the recess. We also placed a screw in a salt solution for a few weeks – we’re still waiting to see any sort of tarnish on the screws. So we’re confident these screws are up to the task.

Made from Ti-6Al-4V (Grade 5).

Disclaimers

Depending on the shape and condition of the bit used to fasten the action screws, it’s possible that the top edge of the recess might show some burring/wear after some use. This does not constitute a failure of the screw and does not qualify for a warranty claim on the screws. We always recommend using quality bits and tools, that shows no signs of wear, to minimise the wear on the action screws.

We recommend you use a torque wrench and to not exceed the torques specified by Tikka/Sako when fastening the action screws. The manufacturer specifies a max. of torque of 7 Nm (62 in-lbs) in metallic trigger guards and max. 5 Nm (44 in-lbs) in plastic trigger guards. Exceeding this might damage your rifle and cause excessive wear/damage to the action screws.
